Founded in 1999 as an IRS 501c3 Organization for the sole purpose of providing scholarships for citizens of Culpeper and Rappahannock Counties – to date over $210,000 has been distributed to worthy students and teachers. The Foundation is managed by a board consisting of local volunteers from both Counties with less than one percent of donations being used for overhead. All donations are maintained in an endowment fund and distributions are approved annually by the Board of the Foundation. At present, five percent of the endowment fund is distributed each year. This guarantees annual accomplishment of the Foundation's purpose while assuring long term growth and stability. In this context, over $35,000 was distributed among twelve scholarships in 2023. The Foundation selects all scholarship recipients and consistently focuses upon protecting all assets donated by the local community while supporting our local students and teachers.
